About this blog
For the past few years, I’ve been writing down things that I’ve been learning. I plan on continuing to write. This is a place where I plan to share these things.
The title “Leaving the Land of Ought: The Journey to a Life of Freedom” refers to the journey I find myself on. Like most people, I have always had a deep yearning to find purpose in life. I’m finding that a lot of what I’ve been taught my whole life about life through school, home, work, and church isn’t really what life is about. Much of it has been learning what I “ought” to do. But a life of living and doing because I “ought” to is ultimately empty and meaningless. It’s tiresome too. So I’m in the process of discovering what else is out there, how to “leave the land of ought”, and what it looks like to live a life of freedom.
I am hopeful that some of the things I’m learning will be helpful to you. I’m also hopeful that I’ll learn from you too. Feel free to post responses to what is written here. Chime in with what you’re learning on these topics. Question, probe and challenge what is written here too.
