Unnecessarily Complicated Truth

This was a diagram I drew during the time leading up to gaining a new perspective on the Gospel (Read about it here). You can think of it as nails in a wall with pieces of string that connect related nails. This diagram was an expression of what I was feeling inside. That something was off. There were simple truths that should easily connect, but I was missing them. I had some idea of them, but they felt all unnecessarily complicated and misused and just outside my realm of understanding and experience. I had this feeling that everything could be simpler and easier and make more sense if the strings were just unwound and reconnected. This feeling turned out to be true. The strings have been unwinding and reconnecting in much simpler ways that make a lot of sense and help me to see the world in a completely different and refreshing way. I think this is part of the “renewing of the mind”. It occurred to me that to “re-new” is to “make new again”. We get to go back from unnecessary complication to simplicity. From a muddled mind of all the brainwashing we’ve received our whole lives to a mind made “new again”. Back to the simple truths purposed in creation that have been hidden and are now revealed to those with eyes and ears to see and hear.

“I will open my mouth in parables,
I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.”

Wow.
